Open Heavens Thursday March 29th 2018 Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye– TIME FOR EVERYTHING

TIME FOR EVERYTHING –

Memorise: He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless came again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm 126:6
Read: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (KJV)
1 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Bible in one year: Deuteronomy 23-24, Ephesians 6, Hymnal: Sing hymn 15
Message:-
Our loving Father commanded His prophets and apostles of old to record the words of the Bible so that through these sacred writings, we may live profitable lives to Him, ourselves and to all of humanity in general. The wisdom of God manifested in these writings can make us wise, if we apply our hearts on His teachings. This wisdom speaks to us in Ecclesiastes 3:1 saying,

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”

When a man knows the appropriate time to act and not to act, he is considered wise. It is profitable for the children of God to be observant of times and seasons so that they are not found to be labouring against the divine timetable. Our memory verse speaks of the time of sowing, which is often not as pleasant as the time of reaping, even though there is an assurance for the sower that in the time of harvest there shall be rejoicing. In other words, the Bible teaches us to endure in the time of sowing so that there could be a time of harvest. Consequently, if there is no sowing, there will be no reaping. It takes the grace and wisdom of God for us to know the correct time of sowing and the correct time of reaping. It is calamitous for a man to be sleeping when he should be reaping, because his harvest would have been wasted before he wakes up from his slumber. On the other hand, if by the time you ought to be sowing you are sleeping, at the time of harvest you would have nothing to reap.

Timing is so important that there is even a time to speak and a time to be silent. There is a thought provoking message that sounds paradoxical but is perfect in wisdom, found in Proverbs 26:4-5:
“Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.”
In other words, although not speaking out during an argument is wise and virtuous, it becomes a vice when there is a need to speak out and you keep your mouth shut. At such times, silence insinuates consent or denial of the truth. Our Lord Jesus Christ kept mute in the face of malicious and unfounded allegations against Him until He was asked if He was the king of the Jews and if He was the Christ (Matthew 27:11, Luke 22:67-70). To these questions, He answered in the affirmative. He could not have denied who He was because that would have contradicted or negated the Scripture. As a born again Christian, do you deny or refuse to affirm who you are in front of friends and colleagues? Ask God for forgiveness and begin to take a stand for your faith.

Prayer Point:
Father, please give me wisdom that will make me accurately discern the right time and season for all things.

Police nabs acid attacker of Fatima Usman in Kano

By Hamza Suleiman

The police in Borno on Thursday confirmed the arrest of one Musa Faisal in connection with alleged acid attack on his 26-year old girlfriend, Fatima Usman.

The Commissioner of Police (CP) in the state, Mr Damian Chukwu, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in Maiduguri.
Fatima Usman, a final year student of Department of Nursing, University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) was attacked with corrosive fluid by suspected tricycle operators in Maiduguri on March 16.

She sustained serious injuries on the face and other parts of her body as a result of the attack.

The attack generated public outcry with women groups calling for proactive measures to protect women from abuse and regulate activities of tricycle operators in the metropolis.

Chukwu disclosed that the suspect, Musa Faisal, was arrested by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Kano.

He explained that the police had also arrested one Muhammad Babangida, who conspired with Faisal and attacked the girl.

The commissioner said preliminary investigation indicated that the suspects conspired and assaulted the girl, contrary to the notion that she was attacked by tricycle operators.

The police boss also revealed that the suspect and the victim dated for over four years and
Fatima Usman’s parents rejected the marriage proposal by Faisal.

He added that “our findings indicated that the girl and the suspect had been meeting in secret for a long period of time.

“On the day of the attack, she arranged to meet the suspect at a hotel in Galadima area of Maiduguri and while they were inside a room, his accomplice, Muhammad Banbangida joined them.

“Babangida was the one who poured acid on Usman and in the process, some of the liquid spilled over to Faisal.

“It is also established that the suspect vowed to deal with the girl since her family resented their union.”

Chukwu said that the suspects had admitted committing the offence, adding that they would soon be charged to court.

The Middle Belt Youth Council and the Jukun Youth Nation Wide Supported The Statement of Gen. T. Y Danjuma.

The middle Belt Youth Council has described Gen. T. Y Danjuma Rtd as Patriot who has spoken very well for ethnic cleansing in the middle belt states.

The Youth Group in Press Statement signed by the National President Mr Emma Zopmal and made available in Jos on Monday the 26th March, 2018 said they are very much happy that Gen Theophilus Y. Danjuma has made a landmark statement unfolding the key actors behind the genocide against innocent Nigerians by Fulani herdsmen terrorists.

According to them the statement of Gen TY Danjuma is a welcome development that will save this country called Nigeria from total collapse.

Below is the full details of the Statement:

PRESS RELEASE BY

MIDDLE BELT YOUTH COUNCIL

We are pleased to have the attention of Nigerians to this important press release. Given the current sad national developments, we wish to speak on some important national issues bordering on security in the Middle Belt and Nigeria at large.

It is very unfortunate that in Nigeria today maiming, killing, raping of helpless women, and destruction of property in the Middle Belt and other parts of Nigeria has become the choice sport of Fulani herdsmen without any repercussive action by Nigerian government. We have spent years now under this canopy of death in Nigeria with no hope to an end to this orchestrated plan of the enemies of Nigeria. We call on Nigerians not to think far about the enemy of this country.

We are very much happy that Gen Theophilus Y. Danjuma has made a landmark statement unfolding the key actors behind the genocide against innocent Nigerians by Fulani herdsmen terrorists. The revelation came at the right time when President Mohammadu Buhari is playing lips service to this dastardly situation under his watch. He is presiding over a nation of people who live beside their graveyards as a result of the activities of this Fourth Dreaded World Terrorist Group but it does not so much matter to him because there’s no report of any Fulani herdsman being killed anywhere in Nigeria.

The statement of Gen TY Danjuma is a welcome development that will save this country called Nigeria from total collapse. As a reputable national and international personality, Gen TY Danjuma has given a sterling warning to Nigerians and the military to rise up to their responsibilities. This is because every citizen deserves the right to live. We strongly stand behind our father, leader and the leading light in the Middle Belt. It is very dangerous to live in a country like Nigeria where dangerous weapons are allowed in the hands of deadly people who do not value life.

We call on Nigerians from the Middle Belt and the South, and the progressive Far North to embrace this fact revealed to us to make things work for good in the best interest of the country. We are now really under siege to be de-oxygenated.

Also more importantly, President Mohammadu Buhari should immediately dissolve his pro-Arewa security chiefs to reflect Federal Character where competent service Chiefs from across the country will be involved. This will help avert the early sunset in the lives of many Nigerians who on no account their lives are taken off everyday by Fulani herdsmen.

While we commend the giant efforts of Gen TY Danjuma for telling the home truth, we call on Nigerians to disregard any statement in the name of any Middle Belt group who are faceless cowards that are paid to disparage Middle Belt leaders through their reckless Press Comments. Middle Belt is united under the current leadership of our amiable President of Middle Belt Forum, Dr Bala Takaya. We have realized that some groups of people have been issuing uncouth statements in the name of Middle Belt whereas we do not know where they come from, who they are and whose interest they are representing.

We want to conclude this press release by once again saluting the General, Theophilus Y. Danjuma, who has been a precious gift to the nation and the world at large. Self-defense is a right of every citizen of the world not only Nigerians. There is no law that stops anybody from self-defense in any part of the world. Nigerians should stand up and defend themselves when faced with attack by Fulani herdsmen because there is no government security that will give life after death. Our leader did not say that Nigerians should take up arms and kill innocent people like the Fulani herdsmen but rather to defend themselves in times of attacks. We should no longer allow our territories to be under siege. The experiences in Benue State, Plateau State, Adamawa State, Kogi State, Zamfara State, Southern Kaduna, Taraba State and some states in Southern Nigeria etc are reasons enough to rise up and defend ourselves.

If President Buhari is really serious about security issues, he should not waste time to probe his Service Chiefs and make the report open to Nigerians so as to save our dear country from this daunting predicaments and whoever is found wanting, should be dismissed and prosecuted immediately. Nigerians did not vote you to preside over their deaths but to provide for their welfare, protect them, and be a father to all.

Thank you

Long life Middle Belt Region

Long life Federal Republic of Nigeria

Signed:
Emma Zopmal
President.

Troost-Ekong commits one per cent of salary to charity

Nigeria defender, William Troost-Ekong, currently with Bursaspor in Turkey, has become the 43rd member of Common Goal – the movement powered by players and managers donating one percent of their salary to high impact football for good organisations around the world.

40 players and managers have allocated over €400,000 to football for good organisations in six months since starting with a single player, Manchester United and Spain midfielder, Juan Mata.

At the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia this summer, Common Goal looks likely to be represented by at least eight players.

Ekong, 24, has had a busy past few years. He was a crucial part of the Nigeria national team as they won a Bronze Medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016, and was nominated for the 2017 African Player of the Year.

In the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification group stage, he played every match for the Super Eagles. He captained the team in their 1-0 friendly victory against Poland on Friday, March 23.

“Winning the bronze medal for Nigeria at the 2016 Olympics and qualifying for the World Cup were both massive moments for me,” said Troost-Ekong. “However, I’m hoping to outdo both of those this summer at the World Cup.”

Born in the Netherlands in 1993 to a Dutch mother and Nigerian father, Troost-Ekong has already played in England, Holland, Belgium, Norway and Turkey and considers his commitment to Common Goal as a decisive career moment.

“I’m aware that I’m a role model for children and football fans, and having travelled the world I’ve seen the impact that we have on people’s lives. It’s our responsibility, as players, to use that in a positive way.”

‘Leave me out of your police problems’ – Kogi State Governor, Yahya Bello tells Dino Melaye

Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello has responded to allegations by Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, that he was working with the police to destroy him. The Governor told the Senator to leave him out of his problems with the police.

In a statement released by Kingsley Fanwo, his spokesperson, Governor Bello advised Melaye to appear before the police to clear the criminal allegations against him.

Fanwo further stated that the simple thing for the Senator would have been for him to prove his case and leave the governor out of his problems.  He said,

“He should face the issue and leave the governor out of the issues surrounding his face off with the police. The governor is a law-abiding citizen of Nigeria who would not involve himself in such criminality, home or abroad. No organization has ever indicted the governor of such crime”.

“He has respect for human life. What has the governor got to do with that? Criminals were nabbed by the police and those criminals disclosed the persons behind the supply of arms to them. On our part as a government, we are pleased that our anti-crime efforts are yielding fruits. Yahaya Bello is committed to ensuring the safety of all Kogi residents. That is his primary responsibility to the people of the state. He has also commended the police for arresting criminals that were disturbing the peace of the state. Dino should rather face the law. The governor has nothing to do with his travails” the statement read.
